Qs and As: a new series of postings at Russian Patents blog

I decided to start posting in our blog some questions we receive from potential customers (and answers, too). Hopefully, you might find use of it.

Q1:
I am looking for blueprints to a USSR pistol that may have been patented. It is called “Pistolet Voevodina”. A photo of the firearm appears here:
http://ns.sitecity.ru/fimages/t/taina/storage/ltext_0312220948.p_0312225018.1.jpg

Would it be possible to get dimensioned blueprints from a patent of this
pistol?

A1:
No, I dont think so. I tried to look up “Pistolet Voevodina” in the database of Russian patents and there were no immediate matches. I also tried looking up some other pistolets, and all of them appear in very simplified form – just a short abstract and claims – no blueprints or even simple drawing included. I believe these are classified patents.
